I love this picture. I have blogged about my love for football as a player and as a fan.
But this picture captures the emotion, intensity and passion that this supporter (hijab-clad and all) has for the game.
She’s fully immersed in the scene and is unabashed in her expression.
The team she was supporting, Bradford City won 3-1 against a much higher ranked team, Aston Villa, in an amazing defeat at home. An incredible experience for the fans.

She is caught up in the hype and atmosphere. Jeering at a player of the opposing team Barry Bannan. She is defending the honour of Bradford City with so much gusto, like the thousands around her.
It also perfectly illustrates a point I have made and will continue to champion: Football goes beyond culture, religion, race and gender.
It is borderless and it is beautiful.
And it is for all of us.
